After a few spins I am certain of it: how I'd love this album if it weren't for the prominent metalcore vocals! But hey that's a matter of taste. I love it when different vocal styles are combined, but I don't like all the combinations. With the Californians of A Love Ends Suicide the main metalcore voice of shouter John Cairoli is being combined by the clean vocals of bassist Emir Abdo and this they do pretty well. The harmonies sometimes remind me of the way Into Eternity does them (yet I don't think anyone comes close to that quality), but they don't do those harmonies often enough.

Musically it's all good. Really good. Thrashy riffs by Matt Garcia and Oscar Cairoli that sometimes refer to the Swedish thrashbands, melodic and technical leads and solos that are mostly inspired by good old classic metal and last, but certainly not least the driven drums by Andres Abdo, the youngest of the brothers. There is also plenty variation in styles (from fast to sluggish slow parts or technical and progressive parts), but even after many spins, the songs don't stay in your ear at all, except for maybe "Lets Spark To Fire" and my favorite, "Dying To Be Beautiful". Great ideas, but the songs are often chaotic and not (yet) coherent. No worries, it's still a promising debut from a refreshing band within the genre, with a clear and powerful production done by themselves and mixed by Daniel Castleman.
