I heard a lot of good things about Ancient's new album "Night Visit" so I choose to do a review about it. The reactions I've heard so far about the new album have been very diverse, here's mine.

"Night Visit" starts off with "Envision The Beast", a very fast song which loses its speed when the female vocals kick in and then picks the speed back up again. It has some very nice atmospheric parts in between.
On the second track "Rape The Children Of Abel", Lord Kaiaphas (their former vocalist) makes a guest appearance. This is a heavy track combined with fast and slow parts.
I like the third track "Horroble", it starts off with a cool solo followed by a lot of speed changes. A very catchy track!
This album has a lot of diversity, it has very fast/heavy tracks and it has some very slow and melodic ones. I wouldn't say that this album is more aggressive than the previous ones but it shows a few new elements to Ancient. It's more atmospheric and emotional but they still retain their heaviness. My favorite tracks on this album are: "Envision The Beast", "Horroble" and "Lycanthrophy". This album contains 2 bonus tracks, they are both instrumental and atmospheric.

This album contains melodic, atmospheric and emotional elements combined with fast and aggressive parts. A very good and lethal mix. I must say I do miss the rawness and the blast-beats. Ancient have produced a very mature and deep album, I look forward to seeing them on tour.
