After the departure of Joe Comeau I really was shocked. I had just dicovered Annihilator on the European tour they did before and I really liked their style and energy. So I was really full of prejudices as I heard they got a new singer. Since I was probably not the only one with those feelings Dave Padden had quite a hard time at the Bang Your Head Festival. He actually wasn't bad, but pretty nervous like everybody would have been and I just didn't like the situation. After the Bang Your Head I promised myself to give Paddon at least a chance with the new album. And I did good on that!

Joe Comeau was not the only change in the line up. Randy Black and Russ Berquist just left Annihilator's ark before this new CD. But no harsh feelings. Jeff Waters takes the reasons (money and time trouble) camly and just writes "All For You" by some coffee and candle light in his studio with his guitar.
In an interview he confirms my first impression of personal feelings and dedication within this album. (read more about it in the interview here soon)

I didn't have a high expectation of the album but what was floating out of my speakers just blew me away. Characteristically crushing Annihilator riffs with cristal clear singing. David Padden shows to be a very soulful singer with the feeling for good melodies and the songmaterial of Waters goes under the skin.

One of the biggest plus points for me is -besides the feeling and the life in the music (which I was missing nowadays with so much good bands)- the different moods and styles of the album. For every situation, mood or taste there will be something on this silver disc. From the ballad "All For You" to the powerful and somewhat funny "Demon Dance", the schizophrenic "Both Of Me" to the stamper "Rage Absolute" I cannot point out any dramatically week points. So for me it combines everything Annihilator is for me: Heavy riffing, crazy and schizophrenic lyrics and the feeling and depth of the music.

I know that a lot of other reviews are not as positive as mine, but give it a chance and take a walk in the depth of mr Waters soul and fantasy circus.
