I was immediately enchanted by these Danes. Their music roams somewhere between prog and power metal, comparible to Vanden Plas, and singer Torben Askholm has a strong voice and puts a lot of emotion in his singing. There's a lot of emotion in the music as well, esp. in the guitar- and keyboardsolos, there's aggression in the crunchy riffs and the keyboards create an overall wonderful atmosphere. Esp. in the first two songs, "Hall Of Two Truths" (a bit dragging like Brainstorm's "Maharaja Palace") and "Downward Spiral" where the rhythm section as well as the cool vocal lines stand out, amazing! "Purification" is a bit lighter and laid back. It doesn't impress me until the chorus comes along, that gets in your head right away. "Hypernosis" starts with a very quite, beautiful intro, the rest is pretty powerful. Again I hear a bit of Brainstorm in the songwriting. "In The Comfort Of Darkness" doesn't stand out as much for me, allthough it's powerful and versatile. Then it's time for two other highlights, the instrumental "Before Anubis", that starts almost balladesque, building up wonderful atmospheres again, to be followed almost seamlessly by "I, Demon". Amazing vocal lines and performance! "The Shadow" is fairly quiet, with some powerful passages as well, just like "Discrowned". "Kingdom Of Duat" is a very atmospheric and beautiful outro.

They may be too power metal for the progressive rock/metal fan, but for this power/thrash fan it's exactly how I like my progressive metal! ;)
