"Ravenous Consumption" is title of Bloodchurn's debut album with U.B. Records. I haven't heard song from Bloodchurn before this review, I've only heard of the band. I knew that they were signed to U.B. Records so I kinda knew what to expect them. Here's my opinion on "Ravenous Consumption".

The first thing that caught my attention was the vocals; you don't get this mix very often. Fast brutal death metal with Suffocation type vocals/growls, it's different and I think it separates them from the other bands.
The other thing that immediately caught my attention was the guitar work (especially the riffs), very diverse and fast. This band switches from style to style very quickly and unexpectedly, they do this in every song. Every transition matches, blast beats and fast riffs are suddenly played in a more brutal or heavier style or the other way around. I can hear some Suffocation influence in their style but you can't really compare them to one another. The thing I liked about them is that their shortest song is three minutes and 11 seconds, most of their songs are close to 4 minutes. Don't expect any one minute tracks with long intros from these guys. The tracks I really liked were: "Conceived In Blasphemy" and "Born Without A Soul".

I have no complaints about this album, I would only suggest adding some vocal changes here there but besides that this is a great album and I highly recommend it to every true death metal fan out there!
