KAMELOT - AT VANCE - SYMPHORCE
Symphorce © Nico Wobben Biebob - Vosselaar (B)

The night started with a SYMPHORCE gig. The show kicked off with "Speak My Mind", "Unbroken" and "Touched And Infected", all tracks from the latest album "PhorcefulAhead". From the beginning the sound was pretty good and the guys were doing great. They were running around and headbanging like crazy and obviously had a lot of fun playing. Singer Andy (who is also in Brainstorm) is a very active frontman who likes to communicate with his audience, which was much more responsive than the band had ever expected. There was a lot of cheering and At Vance © Nico Wobben applauding after each song. The guitarists Cede (also in Freedom Call) and Markus added a lot to the show by headbanging and posing. Symphorce also played a few songs from the "Sinctuary" album, including the amazing Powermad cover "Nice Dreams" and "Slow Down", which was the closing track that set the end to a way too short gig. We demand more!

Next up was AT VANCE with their new singer Mats Levén who you might know from his work with Yngwie Malmsteen. He didn't look very metal but his outstanding voice certainly fits At Vance very well. They mostly played songs from their latest release "The Evil In You", including the titletrack and "Fallen Angel". Also the songs from the Kamelot © Nico Wobben previous albums like the titletrack of "Only Human" went down real well and we saw hands in the air up to the soundboard.

It took quite some time until headliners KAMELOT entered the stage. Again a splendid sound and a very tight gig. Singer Roy Khan did have some trouble with his voice but it didn't harm his performance too much. My personal favourites were "Edge Of Paradise" and "Nights Of Arabia" during which Roy Khan's girlfriend (so I've been told) made a guest appearance on vocals. Other successful songs were "Wander" and "Wings Of Despair" - "Helena's Theme" was sadly missed.
